JANUARY 2024

  • Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards - Deadline January 4, 2024

The Awards recognize up to fifteen Jewish teens who are outstanding leaders in community service with awards of $36,000 each. We seek teens showing significant initiative and leadership in creating and leading a new initiative – or who have considerably deepened or expanded an existing project - that embodies the values of tikkun olam, repairing the world.

  • Youth On Course College Scholarship - Deadline January 12, 2024

The core purpose of Youth on Course is to provide youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. $4,000 - $20,000 scholarship available. To be considered for a scholarship, you must be a high school senior, enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited high school with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Scholarships are both need and merit based. You must be accepted for enrollment at a four-year college/university the same year the scholarship is awarded, you need to be a member of Youth on Course- you can join today at youthoncourse.org/join.

  • San Joaquin Engineers Council Scholarship Application* - Postmarked By Sat. January 13, 2024

The San Joaquin Engineers Council (SJEC) offers scholarships to high school seniors pursuing an Engineering Degree. The applications are to be filled out by the students and counselors in appropriate areas and returned with transcripts and test scores attached.

  • Smart Owl Scholarship - Deadline: January 29, 2024

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

A) Be a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories.

B) Be 16 years of age or older and be enrolled in college or registered in a high school.

  •  Hamilton Relay - Deadline Jan 31, 2024

The goal of the Hamilton Relay Scholarship is to support students who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or have difficulty speaking in their post-secondary education. The Hamilton Relay Scholarship is extended to a qualifying high school seniors living within one of the states where Hamilton Relay is the contracted telecommunications relay and/or captioned telephone service provider. This includes California, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Saipan, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington. Application must be postmarked by the deadline day.

To be eligible for the Nitro Scholarship you must be:

A) A student who is currently enrolled as a high school senior or in an accredited college or university located within the United States;

B) A parent who currently has a child enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States;

C) A parent who currently has a child enrolled as a high school senior located within the United States;

D) A student or a parent whose child has graduated from an accredited undergraduate school (a "School) and who is currently paying back a student or parent loan for his/her/child's educational expenses for such School ("Entrant").

  • Niche 2K No Essay College Scholarship – Deadline Jan 31, 2024

All high school and college students, as well as anyone looking to attend college or graduate school in the next year. 

How It Works

The $2,000 "No Essay" Scholarship is an easy scholarship with no essay required! The scholarship can be used to cover tuition, housing, books, or any education-related expenses. The monthly winner will be determined by random drawing and then contacted directly and announced in Niche's e-newsletter and on the Scholarship Winners page. You can apply once each month, with a new winner selected every month.

This scholarship is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and first semester senior students for all majors and schools. We will judge this scholarship based on other criteria such as volunteer work, extracurricular activities, special circumstances, etc.

  • DAR Scholarships – Deadline Jan 31, 2024

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and American Indians Committee offer many scholarship opportunities. Each scholarship opportunity has its own individual criteria and may require specific documents to be uploaded into your application. The scholarships opportunities range from nursing, medicine, occupational or physical therapy, law, business administration, English, math, chemistry, music (voice or piano only), American history, history, government, American Studies, historic preservation, horticulture, and elementary and secondary education. Two scholarships are specifically for Native American students (you must provide proof of membership in a federal or state-recognized tribe) and over twenty of the scholarships opportunities are for graduating high school students, college undergraduate students, or graduate students. Two scholarship are specifically for DAR members or DAR-descendants/dependents (you must be able to provide the DAR member’s name, national membership number, and your relationship to the DAR member).

  • A personal statement of 1,000 words or less setting forth the your career objectives.

  • A recent copy of your high school transcript and/or college and graduate school transcripts, as applicable. Home-schooled students must include transcripts for grade nine through final year. If selected as a scholarship recipient you will be required to submit an official copy mailed/emailed to DAR. Please note, DAR no longer requires SAT or ACT scores, or class size or class rank on your transcripts if you are a graduating high school student.

  • Information required by specific scholarships such as financial need information, a letter of acceptance into a special program or a transcript stating you are in a special program like nursing or medicine, proof of tribal membership if a Native American, or special test scores if in a graduate program (such as MCAT or LSAT).

  • Proof of United States citizenship; please photocopy one of the following documents: a birth certificate, naturalization papers, or the information page of your United States Passport. Cover all photographs. If listed, please blackout social security numbers.

  • A ONE-PAGE document or listing of your extra-curricular activities, honors received, and scholastic achievements. The information to be uploaded should not exceed one-side of a 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch piece of paper.

  • Rent- A- Center Make a Difference Scholarship Program - Deadline February 1, 2024 by 3PM CT

Applicants to the Make A Difference Scholarship Program must be:

  • Customers in good standing (current customers or customers within the past two years) of Rent-A-Center (includes corporate Rent-A-Center, Rent-A-Center Franchise locations and Acima’s SLC corporate office), Get it Now!, Home Choice or AcceptanceNOW/Acima.

OR

  • Spouses or dependent children of the above customers who are living in the customer’s household.

OR

  • Dependent children, 25 years of age or younger, of current employees of Rent-A-Center (includes corporate Rent-A-Center, Rent-A-Center Franchise locations and Acima’s SLC corporate office), Get it Now!, Home Choice, AcceptanceNOW/Acima or RAC Field Support Center who have been continuously employed for at least one year on December 1, 2022.

Applicants must be studying to obtain their first bachelor’s degree.

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale (or its equivalent).

  • Be Bold Scholarship - Deadline February 1st, 2024

The $25,000 “Be Bold” Scholarship is a no-essay scholarship that will be awarded to the applicant with the boldest profile.

To us, boldest does not mean “best”, or “most accomplished”. Being bold means being:

  •  Hispanic Scholarship Fund- A Diploma is Forever - Deadline February 15th, 2024

    • Must be of Hispanic heritage

    • U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA 

    • Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students

    • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the US, for the 2023-2024 academic year

  • Frontline Families Scholarship Program - Deadline February 15, 2024

The Frontline Families Scholarship Program established by Dr. Michael Osterholm, in order to provide educational opportunities and assistance to the surviving family members of frontline healthcare workers, and volunteers who lost their lives in the fight against COVID 19. Priority will be given to families who are historically underserved, and those who demonstrate financial need.

  • The Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship- Deadline February 20,2024

The Vegetarian Resource Group each year awards scholarships to high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and communities. Applicants will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. Payment will be made to the student's college (U.S. based only). Winners of the scholarships give permission to release their names to the media. Applications and essays become property of The Vegetarian Resource Group. Scholarship winners are contacted by e-mail or telephone.

  • Military Benefits Association Scholarship – Deadline February 29, 2024

Eligible applicants are:

  • High school seniors or GED holders who are enrolling in Fall 2023 undergraduate study at an accredited two or four year college, university, or vocational-technical school as a full-time student.

  • Persons enrolling or already enrolled in an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational-technical school as a full-time student.

Applicants must also be one of the following:

  • Unmarried dependent child under age 26 of an MBA member;

  • MBA sponsored spouse member or dependent spouse of an MBA member;

  • MBA members who are National Guard members or Reservists;

  • MBA members who are Veterans, having separated from Service as of application deadline.

  • PG&E Employee Resource Group and Engineering Network Group Scholarships - Deadline February 24th, 2024

-Be a high school senior or graduate, have received GED certification or be an undergraduate or postsecondary undergraduate student. Veterans and adults returning to school are encouraged to apply.

-Have a primary residence that is a PG&E customer in California at the time of application.

-Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university in the Fall.

  • OKC National Memorial Essay Scholarship  – Deadline February 27, 2024

Eligibility

-The contest is open to all public, private, parochial or homeschool students in grades 5-12.

Notification

-Winners will be contacted by phone or email by March 10, 2023, and will be recognized at a ceremony on April 1st. A list of the winners and their essays will be posted on the Memorial’s website, MemorialMuseum.com.

  • DAV Scholarships - Deadline February 28, 2024

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

A) Be 21 or younger and have volunteered for a minimum of 100 hours through DAV or DAV Auxiliary.

B) Have accumulated the volunteer hours at a VA medical center, and/or the Local Veterans Assistance Program (LVAP). Hours must be credited to Disabled American Veterans.

  • Mental Health System Reform Scholarship– Deadline February 28, 2023

This scholarship is available for students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or law school program within the United States. High school seniors who are graduating and will be enrolled in college before the scholarship deadline are also eligible to submit an essay. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for consideration.

Applications for the Mental Health System Reform Scholarship must include the following:

  • A current resume

  • An official academic transcript

  • A 750-1000 word essay explaining your opinion on the mental health debate in the U.S. and whether you believe the mental health system is in need of reform. If so, include the steps you believe are necessary to accomplish this reform.

The Modesto Lodge 2021 of the Sons and Daughters of Italy in America invites all high school students of Italian descent who reside in Stanislaus County to apply for their 2023 Scholarships. The will award 4 $1000 scholarships.

Nuclear Family Scholarship – Deadline Feb 28, 2024

Eligibility

A) Our scholarship is open to any current high school senior, college student or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States, and resides in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.

B) The applicant must be enrolled in a two to five year post-secondary institution for the Fall 2023 semester.

C) Employees of the Law Office of David E. Gordon, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and persons living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not), are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. 

D) Candidates for this scholarship should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be in good overall academic standing.

Application Requirements

A) The candidate must submit a 750-1000 word essay answering the following question: How has a member of your immediate family, like a parent or a sibling, helped shape the person that you are today?

B) The candidate must submit their resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic. Please make sure to include both your current school and your upcoming school (if applicable) as your educational experience.

C) The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, in addition to their most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students are also asked to submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.

  • Tau Beta Pi Engineering Scholarship – Deadline February 29, 2024

  • Incoming Freshman

  • Minimum unweighted 3.75 grade point average

  • Pursue an engineering or related science degree through an ABET accredited program

  • American Chemical Society Scholars program – Deadline March 1, 2024

To be considered for a scholarship through the ACS Scholars Program, candidates must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S.

  • Be African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian (please see below for more details)

  • Be a graduating high school senior or college freshman, sophomore or junior. Seniors can apply for their fifth year.

  • Intend to major or already major in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or another chemistry-related science AND plant to pursue a career in a chemistry-related science as well (please see below for more details)

  • Army ROTC Scholarships – Deadline March 11, 2024

YOUR OBLIGATION

Your acceptance of the scholarship means a future service obligation of:

  • Eight years of Army service, with requirements for active duty in the Army, and/or serving in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard, depending on the scholarship

  • You may be eligible to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career immediately after graduation

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS

To be accepted for any ROTC Scholarship, you must meet these standards:

  • Be a U.S. citizen

  • Be at least 17, and under 31 in year of commissioning

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50, unweighted if you're in high school while applying

  • Have taken the SAT or ACT

  • Take the current Army physical fitness test

  • Meet the physical weight and height requirements

  • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard

Supporting the growth of Hispanic and Latinx communities and encouraging the pursuit of a tech career.

 

Eligibility

To be considered for a HOLA Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a U.S.-based, high school senior of Hispanic and Latinx descent (for example, Mexican American, Cuban American, Brazilian, etc) of an accredited organization.

  • Be a U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident or be an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA).

  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or one of the following Business programs- Business Administration, Finance or Marketing at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational school, in the United States, for the entire upcoming academic year.

  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.

HOLA Scholarship Details

This year, HOLA Scholarship will award 13 scholarships totaling US $85,000:

  • Three (3) $20,000 scholarships distributed over 4 years ($5,000 per year, renewable)

  • Ten (10) $2,500 one-time scholarships

How to Apply

To apply for an HOLA scholarship, submit your application online through the Scholarships America portal. The applications will open on January 22nd, 2024 and the deadline for application submission is March 13th, 2024, 3:00 PM Central Time. The application questions will be obtained through the portal.

  • Nectar Bath Treats Scholarship – Deadline Mar 15, 2024

    • At Nectar Bath Treats, we're a firm believer that self care plays a large role in our mental health. With depression and anxiety rates growing every year, we understand that boosting our collective mental health can dramatically improve our society as a whole.

    • That's why we have created a scholarship for high school and college students across the United States. We're committed to helping students in the field of psychology or social services by offering a $1,000 scholarship to help continue on the path to helping others struggling with mental health issues.

    Scholarship Application Requirements:

  1. Acceptance to an accredited four-year college, university, or equivalent

  5. Completion of full application including a completed Student Aid Report from the FAFSA or the CSS Profile

  • TOSCA Scholarship*- Deadline March 15, 2024

The TOSCA Scholarship application has opened!  To be considered for a scholarship award, complete scholarship application packets (including all supporting documents & transcript) must be submitted via mail and postmarked by an official postal service office no later than March 15th, 2024.

 Eligibility for graduating high school seniors:

•Applying to an academic scholarship to a 4-year university (BA/BS degree) must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.

•Applying to an academic scholarship to a 2-year community college, or vocational/technical institution must have a GPA of 2.5 or above

•GPA used for awarding is the unweighted Academic GPA as verified and calculated by student’s Official Transcript.

The Modesto Garden Club will award six scholarships of $1,500 each to students majoring in the study of: Agronomy, Agriculture Education, Floriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Botany, Forestry, Wildlife Science, Plan Pathology, City ( Rural and Urban) Planning, Habitat or Forest Systems Ecology, Environmental Concerns, Land Management, or allied subjects. Attached are the application guidelines, scholarship application, and the checklist. The deadline to apply is March 20, 2024. Please be sure to postmark your application no later than March 20, 2024.

You’re eligible if you are:

  • A person who identifies as a female/woman

  • An incoming freshman through graduate student

  • Studying engineering full-time (exceptions made for re-entry/non-traditional students)

  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited program

  • A community college, university, or re-entry/non-traditional student

  • Italian Catholic Federation Scholarship- Deadline April 1st, 2024

The Italian Catholic Federation (I.C.F) is a National Roman Catholic Fraternal Organization of persons of Italian ancestry who are of Roman Catholic Faith. To apply for this scholarship, a total cumulative GPA (3.1/2 years) at least a 3.2 and meet all the requirements in #1 or #2: 1) are Roman Catholic and of Italian Descent and live within the Roman Catholic Dioceses of Arizona, California, Illinois, Nevada, only where branches of the federation are established. or 2) if either Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparent is a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, the student must be Roman Catholic but need not be of Italian Descent or live where Branches of the Federation are established - membership of Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparents is mandatory for #2.

  • Eula Mae Jett Scholarship Plan- Deadline April 1, 2024

LPI offers scholarships to individuals who seek careers in the legal field. The applications and accompanying documents for these scholarships must be presented through a local sponsoring association by the due date determined by the sponsoring association. If there is no local association, applicants may submit applications and accompanying documents directly to the LPI Scholarship Chair.

  • Student-View Scholarship Program Deadline: April 23, 2023

The 2023 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $12,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four year college, community/junior college or career school.  The program includes:

-One $5,000 scholarship

-Two $1,000 scholarships

-Ten $500 scholarships

Tom LoCasale Developing Character Through Golf Scholarship Deadline – April 26, 2023

  • This scholarship seeks to honor Tom LoCasale’s life by supporting students who have learned valuable life skills through the sport of golf.

  • Any high school senior who plays golf may apply for this scholarship. Candidates who will be a first-generation college student or identify as an underrepresented minority are highly encouraged to apply.

  • To apply, tell us about the biggest lesson you’ve learned from golf and how you’ll use those lessons in the future.

Husband and Wife Law Team Scholarship – Deadline April 29, 2024

  • You must be a high school senior on track to graduate or a college student enrolled in an accredited four-year university/college, or currently enrolled in a two-year college and planning to transfer to a four-year university/college upon completion.

  • You have earned, or will earn your high school diploma this calendar year.

  • You have maintained a 3.0 or higher GPA.

  • You are a U.S. Citizen or hold Permanent Residency status. DACA recipients are welcome to apply.

  • You must complete all entry fields on the application for the scholarship. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Entries that do not meet the word count requirement will not be considered.

We are seeking bright minds with a desire to heighten national awareness via our social media campaign to end the dehumanizing forces of human trafficking and child exploitation.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a current high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior.

  • Plan to attend an accredited college, university, or community college in the upcoming academic year.

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.

  • Have a GPA of 2.50 or higher.

  • Entries must be an original, unpublished video created by the entrant.
