Students must earn a cumulative semester grade point average of 2.0 for the school year and cannot have more than two semester F’s in their core classes (Math, Science, History, ELA, Physical Education). Meeting these requirements means that students will be eligible to play sports and attend school functions, such as the dances.
For 8th grade students, it also means they will be eligible for promotion activities, such as participating in the 8th grade activities, promotion ceremony, and to receive a promotion certificate.
A Grade Point Average (GPA) will be calculated for students at the end of each quarter grading period.
GPA is calculated by using the following method (each letter grade is assigned a point value): A=4 B=3 C=2 D=1 F=0
All points are added up and divided by the number of classes the student is enrolled in. For most students, this means dividing by seven.
This student would have a GPA of 2.43.
When all of the points from grades are added together, the total is 17.
4+3+2+1+0+4+3=17
The 17 is then divided by 7 because that is the number of classes we are adding together.
17÷7= 2.43
Este estudiante tendría un GPA de 2.43.
4+3+2+1+0+4+3=17
17÷7= 2.43

Students receive four (4) quarter report cards. Eligibility grades will be considered the last completed quarter.
Semester 1 grades are calculated by averaging Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 grades. Semester @ grades are calculated by averaging Quarter 3 and Quarter 4 grades.
